Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana List 2024
The government is implementing this Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) across the country for the welfare of farmers. The premium amount under the PMFBY scheme has been fixed at 2% for Kharif and 1.5% for Rabi crops compared to much higher premiums under the previous crop insurance. PM Narendra Modi launched this agricultural insurance / crop insurance scheme on 18 February 2016. Registration lines for crop insurance for PMFBY 2024 are open and all interested farmers can apply online for agriculture insurance on the official website of PM Fasal Bima Yojana pmfby.gov.in.
Keeping in mind the financial condition of each farmer, the premium amount has been kept quite low. Since the inception of this Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) by the Central Government, insurance cover has been provided to 36 crore farmers. Till now, through this PM Fasal Bima Yojana, insurance claim amount of Rs 1.8 lakh crore has been provided to the farmers.
Eligibility of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana
All farmers across the country who are involved in the production of notified crops as land owners, tenants or sharecroppers in notified areas are eligible to apply for this scheme.
